A musical comedy starring Sonny Bueno, set in Baltimore in the early 1960s. It was the last moment of American innocence, and the whole society was about to face the upheaval of the times. The film reflects his political observations and deep sympathy for the civil rights of the marginalized through a TV song and dance show popular with teenagers. The plot revolves around two families, one black and one white. Sonny's daughter, raised by her snobbish mother and devoted to training her to be a dance queen, lost out to a black teenage girl when she was open to recruiting new dancers on a TV show that was black-and-white apartheid. Yes, after teenagers break racial taboos in pursuit of love and freedom of work, the traditional shabby rules are finally a thing of the past.
