The film conveys the strong emotions that have always been in Ou Rong's works, as well as the bondage of friendship and the theme of women's independence. From these perspectives, "Frantz" is more like a classic drama, and very attractive. However, Lu 's film is based on anti-war, adding elements of romantic love, while Ou Rong's film is just the opposite. This film is a bit more hypocritical than the original 1932 film, and of course, a bit less moving.
