2022-01-13 08:02
Frankie is a waitress at a small cheap restaurant in New York. Johnny is a middle-aged man sentenced to one and a half years in prison for fraud. He has just been released after serving his sentence and came to New York to look for work. He was taken in by the restaurant’s kind owner Nick and became a fast food chef. Johnny became interested in Frankie and wanted to ask her out for a walk. Frankie refused, but Johnny appeared in her apartment again, saying that he wanted to accompany her to the party. At the party, Johnny stayed with Frankie and kindly joked with her. Later, he took her home on foot. The friendship between them turned into eroticism. As a result, Johnny stayed at her home for the whole night. But when he returned to work in the restaurant, Frankie began to hate Johnny for showing her every kind of hospitality and lost interest in him. He felt uneasy. Finally, Frankie admitted to him that a past boyfriend had caused her emotional and physical trauma, and she has not fully recovered yet. So John solemnly proposed to Frankie, and they gained mutual trust and understanding. She finally found a place for Johnny deep in her heart and at home.

There seems to be something close between the two male and female protagonists, or is the script too lame? There is no progressive level development. Although I also like to watch American life videos and social customs in the 80s and 90s, this film is a bit low if you only watch these. In addition, the rear window of the hostess' house is not bad. Hitchcock didn't know the situation when he saw the life of the neighbors.

The plot is very bland, but the actors' performances are amazing, every detail is accurate and in-depth, and the escaping part is so well shot! Is the inexplicable translation of the title!
