During the Second World War, the artillery fire of the war destroyed the homes on which the civilians depended for survival. In desperation, they had to embark on a journey of fleeing. In an enemy bombing, the five-year-old girl Paulettewitnessed the death of her parents and her pet dog. The dead puppy was thrown into the river, and Paulie hurried to salvage the puppy. Just as she was heartbroken, a boy named Michelle Doleappeared in front of her. Michelle was moved by Paulette's tragic experience. He persuaded his parents to adopt the poor girl and made a grave for her puppy. However, everything Michelle did could not relieve Paulette's pain. Seeing her sad expression, Michelle thought of a way. The two children collected the carcasses of animals that died in the war, set out to build a cemetery for them, and stole crosses from a local cemetery to set up tombstones for them   .
