Michael Duddock DeWitt was born in 1953. He had a keen interest in European comics and illustrations in his early years, especially the works of Belgian cartoonist Hergé and American cartoonist Carl Bacchus. Bell. Michael Dudok DeWitt entered the Surrey College of Art and Design to study animation in 1975. During his studies at the school, he watched a large number of Eastern European animation art short films, and learned from the Japanese animation master Hayao Miyazaki and the Russian animation master Yuri. ·Knowleskin and other animation works drew nourishment and laid a solid foundation for his animation career. After graduating in 1978, he joined a well-known British animation company. He has produced animation commercials for famous global companies such as Heineken, Volkswagen, and AT&T.
In the long-term commercial animation production, Michael Dudock DeWitt has become more and more confused. Because commercial animation is subject to the requirements of customers and agents, he cannot give full play to his creativity and individual expression. After the cooperation between the animation studios, they were deeply inspired by the animation creation concept of the "Crazy Shadow" animation studio, and decided to create personal style art short films. "Tom the Cleaner's Trash Can" is the first animation film that it collaborated with the "Mad Shadow" studio. The film uses a fresh and concise tone to determine the creative style of Michael Dudock DeWitt.
In 1994, he created "The Monk and the Flying Fish", which was nominated for the Oscar for Best Animated Short Film, which made Michael Dudock DeWitt's animation style more mature. In 2000, he created the animation "Father and Daughter", which gave him a new leap in his career
