This movie is actually an upgraded version of director Neil Blomkamp’s 2005 work. The short film called "Aliens in Joburg" was written and filmed by Neil Blomkamp, about the conflict between aliens and local residents in Joburg. Johannesburg is actually Johannesburg, and Schalto Copley has also changed from the starring role of "Joborg Aliens" to the starring role of "The Ninth District". In fact, this film produced 6 different endings, and the film is ultimately only one of them. At that time, Peter Jackson was preparing to form a team to shoot the movie version of the game masterpiece "Halo" on the X-BOX, and the selected director was Neil Blomkamp, but the film was then held indefinitely due to the interests of large companies. After shelving it, Peter Jackson, who was always optimistic about Neal, decided to pay 30 million US dollars out of his pocket and let Neal make a film he wanted to make, so "The Ninth District" was born.
