Deck the Halls Shooting process

In the script, the house where Steve and Buddy "duel" should be next to a street in a New England-style town. After some exploration, the crew found a large, vacant open park in the suburbs of Vancouver. There are already some houses in the park, so that the crew can easily reproduce the required scenes. Since there are often shots of Steve looking at Buddy's house from inside the house, Buddy's house was designed to give the best natural perspective here.
The film's art director Bill Bruzesky designed two distinct houses for the two protagonists that reflect their personalities: one is a colonial-era building for the traditional Steve, The other house has a cloister, in keeping with Buddy's eccentric character.
After the house needed for the film was built, another challenge presented itself to the film crew. Since 60% of the film is shot at night, and this period is summer in Vancouver, because it is close to the North Pole, there are only less than six hours of nights a day here. In order to keep the filming time and allow his actors to keep their heads sober to show off their acting skills, while also creating a realistic nighttime effect, Whitesell decided to shoot during the day and just let the props use a A huge tent covers Steve and Buddy's house, and that's how the night scenes are filmed
