Death of a Cyclist movie plot

University professor Juan and Maria José were lovers, but the war separated them, and Maria married Miral, a wealthy businessman. After the war, the two reunited, and the old love rekindled. During a rendezvous, Maria accidentally hit a cyclist with a car. Fearing that their personal relationship would be exposed, they abandoned the injured person, causing the cyclist to die. Since then, they have fallen into suspicion, always worried that all this will be discovered. Extortion by husband's friend Rafa puts Maria on the verge of collapse. Juan was more condemned by his conscience. He took out his anger at the female student Mathilde because of his bad mood, which led to a collective protest by the students.
