The background of the film was set in the State of Washington , which was actually shot in Sweden. There are some small roles played by Swedish actors, and they are dubbed by people with an accent of The United States of America.
Shortly after the beginning of the movie, when the workers came out of the factory, we could briefly see a man and a woman, each holding a child, waiting for the bus at the station. This woman is the wife of screenwriter and director Lars von Dier, Bend Fudge Dier, and the two children are their twin sons. Von Dier originally wanted to cut off their cameo performance, but after his wife's protest, he added it again.
Lars von Dier originally wanted to play the man who was angry with Selma and Cathy and punished them in the cinema. However, due to constant quarrels with Bjork on the set, he was worried that he would be bad and out of control during the performance, so he gave up the role to Michael Fraesus.
The judge's name AD Mantel is based on Anthony Dudd Mantel. He is the photographer of three Dougma 95 films, namely "Home Change" Festen (1998), " Mifunes sidste sang " Mifunes sidste sang (1999) and " Gummo " Julien Donkey-Boy (1999). Director Lars von Dier was once one of the initiators of the Dougma 95 movement.
