In order to make the whole film more objective and closer to the basis of realism, director Fernando adopted a large number of real performances by non-professional actors. The crew first recruited more than 400 non-professional actors from the streets of Rio, and then selected 200 suitable candidates after training. They were divided into 8 groups according to the differences, and then two months of professional actor courses. Finally, 110 candidates with the best performance from 12 to 19 years old were selected from them, arranged for them to receive 8 months of intensive actor training, and during the training process, they refined the most realistic and most real life, and then integrated them into the script and filming. In the process, the director pays more attention to improvisational performances by non-professional actors, so that the film has a realistic style that is closer to the face of the market.
