Best Picture Oscar in 2003 (but nowhere near as good as [The Pianist]). Based on the Broadway musical of the same name, the film is a well-made musical, entertaining and socially ironic. The editing is exquisite, and the singing and dancing intersect with the conventional plot, which not only externalizes the psychological activities of the characters, but also serves as a symbol and supplementary interpretation. It is not easy for the three protagonists to complete all the singing and dancing scenes in person. My favorite puppet show. (8.0/10)

B+/ I feel that the object of comparison is not Lalalan, but "Eight Beauty Tu", which combines stage play and film form rather bluntly. The hysterical editing and horse-grabbing plot constantly diminishes the intensity and depth of the irony. Especially in the middle and back stages of repeating the media dreaming and entertainment that has been explained thoroughly in the first half, it becomes more and more tired. Fortunately, the singing and dancing in the center of the image are very visible and flowing. I would rather choose this than a pianist.

Billy Flynn: My client feels that it was a combination of liquor and jazz that led to the downfall.

Matron Mama Morton: [singing] Let's all stroke together, like the Princeton crew. When you're strokin' Mama, MAMA'S STROKIN' YOU!
