Because Audrey Hepburn and Cary Grant had never met before, Stanley Donen arranged for them to have a meal in a restaurant before the filming started. Audrey Hepburn and Stanley Donen arrived first. After Cary Grant arrived, Audrey Hepburn was too nervous. During the chat, due to too much hand movement, he overturned a bottle of red wine and spilled all the wine on Grant’s suit. Cary Grant was calm. He took off his jacket and handed it to the restaurant to show that he knew where there is a dry cleaner. Afterwards, Grant sat down and continued to have an unfinished dinner with the two casually.
The next day, Grant sent Hepburn a box of caviar with a card, telling Hepburn not to care about the suit. This thoughtful act made the two immediately establish a beautiful friendship. Donan later used this scene in the movie. When the heroine and heroine were walking along the Seine in Paris, Audrey accidentally put ice cream on Gary’s suit.
