The general content of the film is that in 1910, Oria's husband, Vasco, bought a piece of land in the state of Nomariana in western Brazil, and took his wife and mother-in-law to this "barren land" after more than a month's trek. Her husband had a nervous breakdown shortly after his arrival and died shortly after. And Oria has been working hard to return to the "civilized" world when she is pregnant. Every day I look forward to outsiders passing by here to rescue them. The film takes a long time to describe Oria's time and again in waiting and disappointment. In the end, after many years, he still failed to get out of the sandbar. Seeing this made me think of Kafka's "The Castle" several times, the only difference is that K of the castle always wanted to walk into the castle. And Oria has always wanted to get out of the desert! Watching this film makes one believe that circumstances and time will eventually completely change a person! When Ao and her daughter had the opportunity to return to the "civilized world" many years later, Aurea gave up and let her daughter be taken away by herself. The director's handling of the ending is thought-provoking. Many years later, Oria's daughter came to visit her elderly mother. Personally, I feel that the dialogue between the mother and daughter about the human landing on the moon at night is the best comment on civilization and ignorance!
All the pictures are shot in real location. The location is the famous "Maranhão Sheets" National Park in Brazil. Not only are there soft "sand bodies" that make people immersed in it, but what is even more amazing is the variety of sand dunes. Inside, there is a large lake as blue as the sea hidden. When I saw one of the scenes in which the sand and the lake were separated by 1/2 blue and white, I realized that the "Crescent Moon Spring" in Dunhuang is really not worth mentioning. Half is desert, half is sea water, both are dihedrons that can be gentle and changeable in an instant, and the discordant coexistence has a special charm. Every picture in the film has become a beautiful scenery without carving. A large number of panoramas, aerial shots and long shots seem to be monotonous repetitions, but they never get tired of watching them.
