"Neighborhood Boy" is mature and sophisticated. It is an American film with great practical significance. It presents the aesthetics of black realist movies and is an encyclopedia of black neighborhood issues and morals. The film bravely confronts the disturbing black slum life, and guides the audience to pay attention to the family disability, racial discrimination, community crime, juvenile parents and other problems faced by the growth of black youth. Not only that, the film also tries to propose a possibility to change the fate-the influence of the father on the child. The only image of the father, Foresee, appears in the film, which entrusts the director's realistic expectations of changing the fate of young people in the black community.
