Bohemian Rhapsody The difference between film and reality

In the movie, Freddy was diagnosed with AIDS, and then decided to join the other members of the band to participate in the charity show Live Aid; in real life Live Aid was indeed held in 1985, but Freddy was only tested for AIDS in 1987 .
In the movie, Freddy and his girlfriend Mary Austin met on the night he joined the band "Smile". The reality is that guitarist Brian May had a short date with Mary Austin. Freddie didn't become interested in her until he became the lead singer of the band.
Freddy mentioned in the film that in the mid-to-late 1970s, the Queen created the largest number of audience rock performances in Rio, Brazil. The real history took place in January 1985.
The "Live Aid" rock concert is not the premiere of the "Queen" after Freddy's "Solo" as stated in the film. The reality is that they released the album "The Works" in early 1984 and have toured around the world

In the end, how passionate the Live Aid scene is, the whole movie is so empty and superficial. Screenwriter Anthony McCarten's previous "Theory of Everything" and "Darkest Hour" were at least restored by the director's ability, but the degree of thorough penetration into the center of the earth this time is really hopeless. No matter how hard Rami Malek works, he can’t conceal the script’s lack of characterization, let alone those dog-blood and cliché adaptations that disregard historical facts.

I didn’t expect it to be so horrible. I’m totally sorry for the production level of this script. The characterization is as shallow as a straw paper. Is it really too lazy to turn it into a live concert at the end?

Bohemian Rhapsody quotes

  • [after listening to Bohemian Rhapsody]

Ray Foster: It goes on forever, six bloody minutes!

Freddie Mercury: I pity your wife if you think six minutes is forever.

  • [from trailer]

Mary Austin: [to Freddie] I love the way you move on stage. The whole room belongs to you. Don't you see what you can be?
