This romantic comedy is a joke about social etiquette. Will a new woman in the 90s who have been seen in all the world fall in love with a boy who was born in a bomb shelter and knows nothing?
"Blast from the Past" is a romantic comedy about post-war survivors falling in love. Its protagonists are two children born in the nuclear age-one is a smart, modern and cynical Los Angeles girl; the other is an innocent and innocent young man who has lived in a bomb shelter since 1962. Brandon Fraser plays Adam, a man who cannot keep up with the times. Alicia Silverstone plays Eve, a woman of the time.
In that extreme "shrink and hide" era, Adam was accidentally born in the underground iron fort in the backyard of his parents. His father Calvin Webb (Fr Walken) is a smart and paranoid scientist, and his mother Helen (Sie Spethek) is a beautiful city woman. Adam's peculiar life experience was caused by a mistake. During the frightening "Cuban Missile Crisis," the Weber family mistakenly regarded an aircraft that crashed in their yard as an offensive nuclear missile. So they moved their family into the well-built air-raid shelter to wait for the end of the radiation pollution. For 35 years, Adam grew up in the movies of Jackie Gleason, the music of Perry Cuomo, and the yearning for life on the ground. His father taught him science, baseball and other knowledge, while his mother taught him dance, etiquette and pursuit of girls. At the same time, he has been waiting for the opportunity to see the sky.
On the other hand, Eve grew up in the rapidly changing Los Angeles and became a skeptical woman who knew how to survive and was very uncertain about love. Her life is a series of troublesome jobs, superficial boyfriends and short-lived hopes.
Right now, Adam is about to leave the underground security fortress for the first time to face the complex world of the 90s, and Eve is also beginning to pursue a new life. When the time control lock of the Webb’s air-raid shelter was finally opened, Adam was sent out to replenish the reserve items and found a beautiful, unmutated girl in Pasadena to "continue the offspring of mankind."
Adam's search journey in the new world was full of bad luck. He met homeless people, went to adult bookstores and supermarkets, and finally met Eve. At first, she couldn't believe this man who said "Your Majesty", regarded the wrinkled striped thin woven jacket as a fashion, and had never seen a man with a color TV. But as Eve learned more and more about Adam’s open-mindedness, humor, optimism, and innocence and kindness, she realized that she had gradually fallen in love.
But the question is: can they find happiness in the real world? Will the spark of love between them bring Adam back underground?
