In 1931, on the eve of Spain's declaration of a republic, Fernando, a young deserter, was captured by two guards. After two soldiers died one after another because of a dispute, Fernando met the old artist Manolo in the brothel. Manolo warmly invited the displaced Fernando to his villa as a guest, and made a new year friendship with him. Fernando, who knows how to cook good dishes, quickly won the trust of elderly people living alone. Fernando originally planned to take the train back to Madrid, but he ran into Manolo's four beautiful daughters at the train station.
