The play is largely based on the episode of the same name starring Linda Hamilton in the 1980s, but it is different in many ways. The story describes the love between New York City Police Department homicide detective Catherine ( Kristin Kreuk ) and the military secret human experiment survivor Vincent Koslow (Jay bunyan). At the age of 19, Catherine witnessed the murder of her mother, but the murderer was quickly killed by a strange-looking "beast." After years of investigation, Catherine finally found the "Beast". His real name was Vincent Koslow, and he was a participant in a secret military experiment. There was a serious problem in that experiment, which caused Vincent to become inhumane. In order to keep his secrets, Vincent has been going out as a "superhero".
Catherine Chandler is a smart, practical, and serious homicide detective. A few years ago, she witnessed her mother's death at the hands of two gunmen. Catherine would have been killed, but someone or something saved her. No one believed her testimony, but she knew that it was not animals that attacked the killers, but humans.
Over the years, Catherine has grown into a strong, confident, and capable policeman, working with her equally talented partner Tess. While investigating a murder case, Catherine followed a clue and took her to a handsome doctor named Vincent Keller. It was Vincent Keller who was supposed to have died in enemy fire when he served in The Islamic Republic of Afghanistan in 2002 . Catherine found out that Vincent was still alive, and it was he who rescued her from the killer gun. For some mysterious reasons, his life was forced to stay away from the crowds. Vincent has been hiding for the past 10 years to cover up his secret: when he gets angry, he will transform into a terrifying beast, unable to control his superpower Strength and super high Perception ability .
Catherine agreed that in return for obtaining any details about his mother's death, she would keep Vincent a secret. Since then, the two have developed a very complicated relationship. They still have no way of knowing whether this relationship is close or dangerous.
