On December 11, 2002, an American veteran Lester Hashi quietly passed away during the "World War II"-he was the "hero company" of the 506th Regiment of the 101st Air Force-the youngest soldier in the E company. Until the moment of his death, Leicester did not forget the unforgettable experience of being a member of the Allied Forces in the vanguard of the Normandy landing, as well as the precious memories of fighting side by side with E Company’s comrades in blood and tears. In the Netherlands, Lester told the famous American expert on the history of World War II Stephen Ambrose all about E Company, so he wrote a book called "Band of Brothers". In 1998, during the promotion of "Saving Private Ryan", a veteran who had participated in "World War II" personally presented the novel to Tom Hanks. After reading it, Tom Hanks, who was deeply moved, gave the book to Steven Spielberg, and the two decided to make it into a TV series and jointly acted as the producer of the TV series.
Since 1998 when Tom Hanks and Steven Spielberg collaborated on "Saving Private Ryan", the two have conceived this TV series based on World War II. After eight months of intensive filming in the UK, five hundred actors with lines and ten thousand extras were used. Eight directors worked together. Among them, Tom Hanks directed the fifth episode and the eighth episode. His son Colin Hanks successfully formed the role of Lieutenant Jones.

Band of Brothers quotes

  • Sgt. Alton More: I'm guessing they were Hitler's photo albums, sir. Sure had a lot of pictures of him in it.

Ronald Spiers: So, you looked at 'em, but you didn't take 'em?

Sgt. Alton More: That's right, sir.

Ronald Spiers: I don't believe you! I'll be watching you. You're dismissed.

    [as Moore leaves, smirking]

Ronald Spiers: You'd better not be lying to me.

  • Ronald Spiers: What?

SSgt. Floyd 'Tab' Talbert: Sir, if it's not going to put you in too much of a bind, I'd like to resign as company First Sergeant. If I had my choice, I miss being back amongst the men. I'd be happy to go to as Staff Sergeant, whichever platoon you want to put me in.

Ronald Spiers: Well, I guess you've earned your right to demote yourself.

SSgt. Floyd 'Tab' Talbert: Thank you, sir.

Ronald Spiers: You wanna take over Sergeant Grant's platoon?

SSgt. Floyd 'Tab' Talbert: That would do fine, sir.

Ronald Spiers: Alright then, report to Lieutenant Peacock. Let me know if he gives you any trouble.

SSgt. Floyd 'Tab' Talbert: Oh, sir? You make your decision yet?

    Ronald Spiers: Yeah, I did.
