It is definitely a downgrade and misreading to understand his works as "indoor drama" in a short time and small space. In the early and middle stages, from "Bad Girl Monica" to "Wild Strawberry", "The Seventh Seal" and other works still build "progressive" narratives based on explicit plot advancement/turning; and in "Masquerade" , "Shouting and Whispering" or "Autumn Sonata", the dramatic node almost disappears, and the tension between the characters dominates the whole film; this tension comes from the history of the characters outside the synchronization time of "Chamber Drama" The complex emotions between each other are caused, and this is the main subject of the film. From this, the film seems to operate in a stable time and space with a definite beginning and end, but the past time is attached to the characters in a way of "perfect" (the influence of the past on the present), and is spoken by the highly infectious actors.
