"Apple Nuclear War" is a comic book published by Shiro Masamune in 1985. The work has attracted a large number of fans with its detailed settings and scientific research. It has been popular for more than 20 years. In 2004, director Nobushi Aramaki adapted it into a 3D animation and put it on the screen. The film was a big success. The DVD sold 150,000 copies in Japan and 420,000 copies in North America. 85,000 copies were sold within 20 days of the release of DVDs, setting a record for the sales speed of animation DVDs.
In the autumn of 2007, the brand new "Apple Nuclear War" theatrical animation "EX MACHINA" jointly created by many world-class celebrities made its debut.
The new animation is produced by action film master Wu Yusen. Wu Yusen's joining can be traced back to 2004's "Apple Nuclear War". At that time, Wu Yusen and his work partner Terence Chang were invited to participate in the preview of the film. After Wu Yusen watched it, he was full of praise for director Aramaki's talents, so the two parties were willing to cooperate in the production of a sequel. For this sequel, Wu Yusen put forward many ideas from the arrangement of the storyline to the modeling of the characters. The script was revised several times according to his suggestions, and it took nearly a year to be basically finalized. During the storyboarding stage, director Aramaki went to the United States twice to discuss the details of the animation with Wu Yusen. Wu Yusen's mind and rich experience of not sticking to animation frames have injected the charm of entertainment blockbusters into the film.
Responsible for concretizing director Aramaki's vision is the digital production team "Digital Frontier" of the 04 version of "Apple Nuclear War" and "Death Note" live-action movies. This time, the digital elites gathered again, using the latest technology to create a "high-density animation", bringing people a new impact visual effects.
Top figures in the music industry also joined in to help. The music producer of this film is by the world-class master Haruomi Hosino. Hosino also teamed up with his old partners Ryuichi Sakamoto and Yukihiro Takahashi to form "HASYMO", composing a moving theme song for the film.
What is striking is that the Italian fashion brand PRADA has also joined the production lineup. The designer MIUCCIA PRADA personally designed two costumes for the heroine Dina. This is PRADA's first involvement in movie costume design.
"EX MACHINA" may become a movie that changes the movie, and people are expecting it to set off a shocking image revolution.
