This is Oliver Stone’s only light-hearted movie. When he turned his attention away from politics, we found another Oliver Stone that was alive and well, no longer worrying about the history of those old papers, no longer for the United States. The future of the United States is unfounded. Al Pacino and Cameron Diaz plus Jamie Foxx, the star lineup interprets an all-star sport for the audience-rugby. There are even comments that since the 1979 "Dallas 40s", football has never been so exciting on the big screen.
The film culminates in a compact climax, deeply dissecting the director's love of rugby and the life issues related to rugby, and deriving an exciting answer-hard work. From the story, "Any Given Sunday" is completely full of American heroism and freedom, but the purpose of the film is actually to say that sacrifice is the ultimate theme of "Any Given Sunday". "Baltimore Sun" commented: It does everything a movie can do.
