The protagonist Derek Winyais an extremely problematic youth. He originally had a happy family and a happy childhood, but all this collapsed because of his father's death. His father was shot and killed by a black man during an outing. His character was distorted, and he began to worship the Nazi Party and hate all people of color. He actively recruited white youths in the community to form a group of forces against people of color. In a confrontation with a black man, he shot and killed two blacks, although he was sentenced to jail.
After Derek Wynya was in prison, he realized that life in prison was not easy. He could only get close to the same neo-Nazi white group as him. But he found that the white Nazi group he was staying in was not good, and the blacks were not good. As inferior as he himself thought, one of the blacks became his good friend. He began to understand that hatred was not the solution to everything, and finally decided to quit the Nazis and live a normal life.
Outside of prison, his younger brother Dannybegan to imitate his behavior, tattooing Nazi totems on his body, and even getting worse. In order to save him, the teacher asked him to calm down and think carefully about what he did and what his brother did and compile a report. After being released from prison, Derek Wynya reflected on his outlook on life, and regretted everything he had done in the past. He realized that the organization he had created had been used by others, and he was determined to give up the past and start a new life. He said goodbye to his girlfriend and organization, and led his family to move. But at this moment, his younger brother Danny was killed by the black man. Derek Wynya was horrified to find that his brother's death was due to the revenge of the sins he had committed before, and he was heartbroken once again in confusion.
