Sigourney Weaver had received two weeks of basketball training. When shooting the basketball scene, Rene wanted to shoot the basketball falling into the rim, because he thought Weaver would need to retake hundreds of times to make a shot, but Weaver insisted on completing it in person. During the shooting, he hit a hit from 6 feet away from the three-point line. The cast and crew present were all surprised, but René was worried that the audience would not believe it. Weaver later described this shot as the most wonderful moment in her life.
