Ace Ventura is a pet detective who specializes in dealing with animals. He lives by helping people find lost pets. When the rugby game was about to come, the mascot of the Miami Dolphins, the dolphin "Snowflake", was kidnapped. This will undoubtedly greatly affect the morale of the players. In desperation, Miss Matissa, the team's economic man, approached Ace Ventura to retrieve the lost dolphin.
Ace Ventura began his investigation activities. But his way of doing things is indeed a bit reassuring. In order to find the suspect, Ace launched a thorough investigation. But the female police officer Elus was always against him, causing him a lot of trouble. The killing of the team leader also made the situation more complicated. However, Ace finally found a clue, and Miss Matissa was gradually moved by Ace's wit and agility, and she began to look at him with admiration.
Ace finally found out the suspect Fei Gao. Feigao used to be a shooter for the Dolphins, but because of a major error in the game, the team lost the championship. Feigao was fired, and was sent to a mental hospital with a mental disorder. He escaped and disappeared shortly afterwards. Ace went to Feigao's home and the mental hospital to investigate, and finally determined that Feigao was the prisoner. Feigao blamed his mistakes on the player Marino and went on to hate the team and the dolphin "Snowflake". Ace informed Elus of this rapid breath, but at this moment, Marino was kidnapped again.
Ace discovered by accident that Officer Arus turned out to be Figao, and he followed Arus to an old warehouse. After tossing, Ace finally exposed the true face of Elus and rescued Marino and "Snowflakes". He also became the hero of the Dolphins.

Is it because I don't understand the jokes of 90's comedies...how do I think those actions and dialogues can't make people feel particularly funny?

Ace Ventura: Pet Detective quotes

  • Lois Einhorn: [after she finishes wrestling with Ace, to the surrounding police officers] Shoot him! Shoot him!

    Emilio: [offscreen] Hold your fire!

[walks in with Melissa, gun to his head]

    Emilio: Don't shoot!

Melissa: Put your guns down or this cop gets it. I mean it!

    [cocks revolver]

    Emilio: She's not joking!

Lois Einhorn: [ignoring them] He kidnapped Snowflake! He killed Roger Podator and was going to kill Dan Marino and meeeeee!

Ace Ventura: Ho ho ho Hooooooooooooo! Fiction can be fun, but I find the reference section a little more enlightening. For instance, if you were to look up the NFL's "All Time Bonehead Plays," you might read about a Miami Dolphin kicker named Ray Finkle, who missed the 26 yard field goal in the closing seconds of Super Bowl XVII.

    [takes deep breath]

Ace Ventura: What you wouldn't read about was how Ray Finkle lost his mind was committed to a mental hospital only to escape and join the police force under the assumed identity of a missing hiker manipulating his way to the top in a diabolical scheme to get even with Dan Marino for whom he blamed the entire thing!

    [takes another deep, relief breath]

Aguado: What the hell are you talking about?

Ace Ventura: SHE'S NOT LOIS EINHORN!, She's Ray Finkle, she's a man.

Lois Einhorn: He's lying. SHOOT HIIIIMMM!

  • [first lines]

Ace Ventura: Heads up! Good defense! Good defense!
