The original soundtrack of the film contains a number of original songs, all of which were actually sung and recorded at the time of filming. This work was done by Steve Moreau, the Oscar-winning sound engineer of "City of Philharmonic". In pursuit of realism, the performance scenes in the film are also shot at real music festivals, including the 2017 Coachella Open Air Music Festival, the 2017 Stagecoach Country Music Festival and Lady Gaga's solo concert tour.
Simultaneous voices are very demanding on actors and on-site environment, but Lady Gaga has clearly insisted from the beginning: All songs must be sung live, because she is a singer herself and knows the difference between live performance and lip-synching singing. It is not a problem for her. But it is a challenge for Bradley Cooper, who is not a professional singer, because all the songs in the film require him to sing in person, and they are all recorded live. For this reason, before the filming started, Cooper specifically sought out a vocal teacher and rehearsed countless times for the singing in the film. Inspired by Lady Gaga, Cooper spent two and a half years of preparation time, visited many musicians, played music with them, and gradually found his own musical style.
