"A Dirty Carnival" continues the usual violent characteristics of Korean movies: violence and life, violence and love, violence and friendship. Director Yoo Ha lets a dignified gangster take a repetitive path: kill others, replace others, be killed by others, and be replaced by others. Paying is rewarding, and gaining is bound to lose. "A Dirty Carnival" won the audience and lost the award.
"A Dirty Carnival" is not just a gangster movie, it is also exposing the desires lurking in the human heart. Through a short life of a gangster, it shows how desire makes a person step on all the ethics and morals of the world. At my feet, he does not hesitate to use betrayal and violence to realize my desires. The director made Bingdou the role of justice and love, but at the same time he gave him such a helpless tragic ending, by showing the audience a cycle of death, deeper revealing the gloom of the subject. There are many violent fighting scenes in the whole movie, there are no exaggerated stunts, and no gorgeous gunfights. They are as close to life as possible, and they are frightening to the real, which makes people trembling.
The film did not beautify the ethical standards of the gang violence world, and successfully exceeded the boundaries of existing gang films. Director Yoo Ha, who was born as a poet , excavated the charm and strengths of Zo In Sung to the greatest extent with his unique visual and perceptual knowledge of things .
