A Dark Place evaluation action

"A Dark Place" is understated, mysterious, with an excellent cast and crew. But with three Irish actors in the lead while telling a story that takes place in western Pennsylvania, the film feels a little weird from start to finish. The plot of the film is relatively simple, but it fails to bring a real sense of life, and it gives the impression that it is false and does not show "local color".
A Dark Place is both a character study and a murder investigation. The film revolves around themes such as mental disability and child abuse, which should have greater depth and impact, but was distracted by other content. The filming and editing of the film are very good, but it is not successful in creating a tense atmosphere and creating suspense, and it is relatively perfunctory in terms of psychology and plot.
