Godard uses film to write social essays, maintaining his usual political critique, and his narrative approach is experimental. The film chose Juliet as the point of view, and used a bunch of fragmented plots to build up the scene of this circle. These plots do not exaggerate lust or emotion at all, but narrate a fact in an almost documentary style, so as to reveal the moral stance of people as consumers in urban life. The film has a strong meaning of emptiness and unconsciousness, which makes the audience easy to fall into the dead end of thinking and struggle endlessly. I believe it will also disappoint some viewers with a voyeuristic mentality.
